Welcome to Tahoe Yoga Nook, a sweet and cozy yoga studio in Carnelian Bay. My name is Mary-Kate - or MK - Jackson. I’ve been teaching for over 10 years and it has been a dream of mine to have a little space to bring people together. The seed was planted when I found the Mexican Otomi wall tapestry years ago, that’s now the centerpiece of the Nook. My space can fit 10 people max, so to me it really feels like a private sanctuary. Weekly classes and massage can be enjoyed in this space, or check out my retreat offerings coming up to really unplug and give yourself a reset.

About me….

Yoga, for me, is practice—imperfect, evolving, and always in motion. It’s the act of showing up, even when it’s hard. It’s catching myself in old patterns, softening when I want to resist, and finding small moments of progress in the messy, beautiful process of being human. My practice doesn’t live only on the mat; it follows me into conversations, relationships, motherhood, and the ever-changing flow of life. Some days, practice means movement and breath. Other days, it means rest, deep listening, or remembering to use the tools I’ve gathered along the way.

I find joy in movement, in challenge, and in stillness. I find it in my son’s boundless curiosity, in belly laughs with friends, in the awe of nature, and in those moments when everything just clicks—on a yoga mat, a surfboard, skis or a mountain bike, or simply in the rhythm of everyday life.

I want you to walk into my class and know that you belong—whether you're here to move, breathe, connect, or just be. This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are—no expectations, no judgment. My teaching is inspired by anatomy, music, truth-telling, and the resilience of the human body and mind. More than anything, I hope yoga helps you feel strong, steady, and more at home in yourself in everyday life.
